Described as ‘one of the greatest diamonds ever discovered’, the Pink Diamond was sold for an uncommon price of $46.2 million in 2010. This makes it the most expensive single jewel ever sold at an auction. It was procured by a London based jewelry dealer, Lawrence Graff, the man behind Graff diamonds. According to sources, the proud owner of this out of the word gem named it ‘The Graff Pink’.
The 24.78 carat diamond was labeled as ‘Fancy intense Pink’ by the Gemological Institute of America. The exclusive gemstone is emerald cut with rounded corners. It is mounted on a platinum ring with two flanking shield-shaped diamonds.
